A
new building on Midway Lane will likely house contractor storage
spaces, a small fabrication shop and an antique car storage facility,
according to Becky Howard, owner of the building.
The
10,000-square-foot steel building, at 1805 Midway Lane, has been under
construction since July of last year and Howard expects to see tenants
signing leases around the end of February.
Howard
declined to disclose the names of current potential tenants, but did
say she had at least five parties interested in leasing spaces in the
building. The building will have 10 to 12 spaces available for lease,
depending on how it gets divided, Howard said.
Howard, a part-time woodworker who has recently been working on boat interiors, is hardly a real estate mogul.
“I’m just a person trying to set up a retirement plan,” she said.
Howard
said she used to own property in Glen Cove, just outside Port Townsend,
but sold the property during a divorce. She used the funds from that
sale to finance this project.
